Macalester/Knox College Cliques?

How is the clique situation at those schools. I’m fine with cliques but I don’t like it when they become all exclusive and segregated. I’ve heard Knox is much better about it, I’m trying to decide between the two schools.

Hey!
I’m a current sophomore at Knox College! That’s a really an excellent question, and one that can be best answered by a visit. In my experience, I am part of so many different groups. What really helps is being involved. I am friends with people I live with, seniors, international students, freshmen, football players, theater kids, you name it. The beauty of Knox is community. I won’t lie and say groups won’t form, it’s very human to be drawn to people that you’re similar to
However, I personally haven’t found that my friendships are bound to a clique; indeed, I find my friendships to be varied and rich. I was drawn to the community that Knox has, and I haven’t been disappointed.

Interesting, as I don’t get the “clique” impression of Mac at all. Honestly, I don’t think cliques are a big problem at most colleges (most college students have moved beyond the clique mentality, it is a much bigger problem in high schools). You really probably should be looking harder at other factors in your decision, this one is a non-starter.
