macaroni and cheese recipe question

<p>If you’ve got cream, you can add a tablespoon or so to a cup of skim milk and voila, full-fat milk. </p>

<p>My favorite mac and cheese recipe says to pour cream around the edges of the dish, on top of the unbaked mac and cheese, before it goes into the oven. Makes the edges get wonderfully browned.</p>

<p>This thread inspired me to make Ina Garten’s mac and cheese for dinner tonight - my D and H are most grateful to the OP!</p>
