Macaulay or Colgate?

Should I choose Colgate College as an OUS scholar or Macaulay Honors? They are both giving me a full ride but which one is better academically. Which one will help with applying to jobs and provide more resources?

Congratulations! What fantastic opportunities! As far as your question goes, though,I have no idea, because I’m not familiar with MacCaulay. What do you want to study? Where do you see yourself ending up? What kind of academic environment are you looking for? Can you stand living out in the country for 4 years?

Colgate has an excellent alumni network and career services starts working for you from the moment you set foot on campus, so you definitely can’t go wrong there.

Matters what you want to do. Colgate has some of the best connections of any college in the business/finance end of things.

First of all congratulations!

Colgate 100%. Don’t even think twice.

MacCaulay is great, but in the end, you are attending a city college without a distinct campus residential experience. You have more opportunities than an average CUNY student, but in the end you are still going to a CUNY school. You don’t get different professors, just preference in registration. Do don’t have wait lists. If you were to attend MacCauley, you would want to go to City College or Hunter College, which are more selective in general.

Colgate is an elite school and is stronger academically. It has many more on campus resources than any CUNY school would ever have . Plus being an OUS scholar, you will get lots of attention and advisors to help you navigate your 4 years there. The alumni network/connections alone are worth the education.

You form deeper friendships at a residential college/university.

Have you visited Colgate?

Which CUNY school would you be attending as part of the MacCaulay program?

This is easy: Colgate.
