Is the MacBook Air w/ Retina display coming out soon?
Macbook air does not have retina.
MAcbook pro does but it is heavier.
new macbook 12 has retina and it is lighter, but the cpu is not fast as macbook air.
SInce it’s hard to find difference from air and pro, i don’t think macbook air will get retina anytime soon.
they do not want the features to overlap too much. i’m waiting for one too.
Thank you @MIN16QAKJ - since MB Air has better processing speed and longer battery life than the new MacBook, I was interested in that, especially if it gets retina display.
Apple traditionally had two laptops. one for consumer ( mac book air ) and one for professional. ( macbook pro)
Over the years, macbook pro got lighter and thinner. and Macbook air got faster. therefore, retina became only difference for many everyday users.
the weight difference is only .5 lbs but somehow macbook air always feel portable to me over MBP.
New Macbook 12 is not worth considering buying yet. it’s first gen products, and there need some features and hickups that need to be fixed before Apple perfect its product line.
When Macbook Air first cameout. It costed $2000 and it did not function well. it took couple more years until macbook air became what it is today.
