Madrid

HI,
Making plans for a June trip to Spain. There will be 3 of us and we are looking for queen or king beds, nonsmoking.
Anyone have experience with an apartment or a hotel that you enjoyed?
We will be in Madrid 4-5 nights.
Thanks!

Trying to find rooms for more than two people can be difficult. We used priceline and bid 5 stars on two rooms. We liked the hotel and were able to save a lot of money. If you’re not so adventuresome, try [Booking.com: 280,345 hotels worldwide. 18+ million hotel reviews.](http://www.booking.com). You can put in the number of people, plus it shows you lots of reviews on each hotel.

I would say that using AirBnB to find a whole apartment for the 3 of you might be the best bet. Some good deals to be had there. I’m planning a similar trip, and have used AirBnB for some of my accommodations.

As noted, it’s going to be hard to find a hotel room that will fit 3 adults. An apartment might work best.

We were in Madrid in December and stayed at the Urban Hotel. Great location - easy walking to lots of restaurants, the Prado Museum, Plaza de Puerto del Sol, Plaza Santa Anna, Plaza Mayor, and the Latin District (great tapas places).

Google “Plaza de la Paja III Madrid apartment”. We rented this apartment about 3 years ago and it was great. Looks like availablity is good right now. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and cheaper than most hotels. Good luck!

You must check out madridman.com. On the forum there you should be able to get all your questions answered, and then some. Have fun!

We really enjoyed Hotel Europa. It is at Peurta del Sol, very close to the Hop-on/Hop-off bus and the subway. It is a short walk to Plaza Mayor. Per the website, you can get an extra bed to make a 3 person room (145 Euro/night on the June date I happened to check).

Our room in May I think was 130 euro (we paid 20 euro extra for a larger room with balcony - we had corner room with 2 narrow balconies). The hotel was upscale and clean. The on-site breakfast was reasonably priced. It must be a good place… there was Rick Steves tour booked there too ;)

I was just coming on to say that we loved the Hotel Europa but I see Colorado_mom beat me to it! Lovely place and wonderfully located. There is a restaurant down stairs and the place has a very friendly staff… We stayed there with 2 kids. I would love to go back to Madrid…

As usual the CC parent cafe followers come through! Thanks and I will be checking your input out and bet we land on something good!

Just so you know, the cafe has been more helpful than Trip Adviser!

We are planning on two rooms or a suite or an apartment. D is 29 and both she and H are tall so we know a regular room will not work. I should have said that one of this biggest concerns is a smoke free room and wish we could get connected rooms. H is worried about the small (for USA standard) beds.

Hostal Adriano is in a great location, very beautiful, comfortable rooms.
