Mail Order Pies?

Does anyone have any suggestions for good, reliable on-line mail order pie companies? I want to send my mom her favorite Key Lime Pie for her birthday. thanks!

Why not look at bakeries in her area?
I cant imagine key lime pie travels very well.

I haven’t had luck in the past with bakeries or florists in her area, though I am still looking into that possibility. Most of the ones I see on-line do an overnight shipping with in a cooler option for pies like that.

I haven’t used this place but they sure have key lime pie- [Kermit ?Duck? T-Shirt - Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe](http://www.keylimeshop.com/shop)

Randy’s Fish Market, a wonderful seafood restaurant in Naples, Florida, ships their pies anywhere.

I sent a key lime cheescake from the Cheesecake Factory to my S. He said it was great.

The best Key Lime pies imo are from the Blond Giraffe Company in Key West, Fla. I looked on-line, though, and it looks like some of the locations may be closed (?) They also have a pie slice on a stick covered in chocolate…heavenly. Maybe do a google search and see if there is a phone# you can call to have a pie or pies on a stick delivered…they really are YUMMY.

I just did another quick search. Looks like they’ve moved from Key West to Tennessee. It’s worth it if it’s the same recipe they had in Key West! Call them and see if they can ship a pie to your mom. Not cheap if I recall, but very tasty. The pie of the stick is also really good. Good luck.

thank you for all the suggestions!

OP, if you want to reveal your mother’s general area, some resourceful CCer might know a good local place.

I know Centerville Pie Company s good.(featured on Oprah)
What about Harry AND David

Mike’s Pies in Tampa, FL is very good. I’ve had his key lime pie and it’s delicious. They ship overnight every Tuesday and Thursday.

Wow, so many great suggestions, thanks so much (knew I could count on CC)! She is in FL but in a somewhat remote place (though Fed Ex gets there), so I may try one of the Florida companies. thanks again :)

Thanks again for all the terrific ideas. Investigated endlessly! Ended up going with 2 key lime pies from Randy’s in Naples (one to eat immediately! and one to freeze) - thanks ksm.

Great, quick service, well-packaged, secure website; mom was delighted & said it tasted great. Now if I could send her a cold, salted daiquiri she’d really be happy! (She likes her lime).

P.S. they have all kinds of great stuff to ship, not just pies.

I figured with the holidays approaching I might revive this thread… and also I’m looking for suggestions for a pie place in the Nashville, TN area that might deliver fresh pies for thanksgiving. thanks in advance!

If you email the Pie Lady at [The World Needs More Pie](http://theworldneedsmorepie.blogspot.com/) I’d bet she can hook you up. She’s touring the country right now in a pie-decorated camper and blogging and posting to her FB page.

Nashville is pretty much a car-oriented city and deliveries of small orders are fairly rare.

yes, that’s what I am discovering as I research it MoWC. There doesn’t seem to be even one bakery in Nashville area that would deliver a few pies, but I get that, it wouldn’t make good business sense for a small business. Just thought a local, fresh pie would be great.

Back to the mail order route again, this time apple (of course) and maybe pumpkin. I may try the Centerville suggestion from earlier discussion, but ouch, really expensive!

thnx for that suggestion too happymom
