Hi, I’m a junior in high school and I’m looking at colleges, but having trouble deciding what I want to do with my life. I’m interested in both business and engineering (specifically biomedical engineering) and thinking about getting a double major. I have straight As and a 4.3-4.4 weighted GPA. I haven’t taken the SAT or ACT yet, but when I took the PSAT as a sophomore for practice I got a 208. Based on this, do you think I would be able to double major in business and engineering? If so, what schools have the best programs? Like I know U Penn has the Jerome Fisher program, what other schools have programs like this? Thanks!

Both business and engineering majors tend to have a lot of requirements, with relatively little overlap. Unless you come in with a lot of subject credit from college courses or AP/IB exams taken while in high school, you may need to take overloads to fit it all in and still graduate in 8 semesters.

You are taking the PSAT this year to try for National Merit, right?

Yes, I took it this year and got a 205 :(. I took one AP last year, I’m in 3 this year, and I will be in 4 next year so I’ll have a substantial amount of credit coming in.
