<p>I already post this in Transfer section but post here is more appropriate. I hope!</p>
<p>I am transfer as Junior standing since I’ll have more than 60 units before next Fall.
So I am doing my UC application, when I select my major for UCSD Jacobs school. There is not an option to choose my major which Mechanical Engineering and it said on the side “MAJOR CLOSED”.
I KNOW my major is impacted but not able to choose it in application is too much. And I already choose Mechanical Engineering as my major for TAG application.
If they don’t have Mechanical Engineering for TAG application, it would makes sense for this UC application to not included it. But they have Mechanical Engineering in TAG, but not this one.
Does anyone have any idea why is this happening?
Any advices?</p>

<p>Choose Aerodynamic engineer or comp engineer then switch your major later.</p>
<p>I been thinking of that because there is B.S. Engineering Science Engineering option under Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I read from Jacob school website it said:</p>
<p>The engineering science program resembles the mechanical engineering program, except the amount of mechanical design is reduced and control theory is not required. In addition to core courses in dynamics, vibrations, structures, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, h eat transfer and laboratory experimentation, a large number of technical electives (TE’s) are schedules. This aspect of the curriculum allows flexibility by permitting specialization and in-depth study in one area of the engineering sciences or through a sequence of courses on various emerging technologies. Students must consult their advisors to fulfill the technical elective (TE) of this program. <p>But does anyone know how much different between Engineering Science and Mechanical?
And how hard is to switch my major since it already impacted?</p>

<p>Not sure about impact major but changing major is super easy for Comp Science major. Go to UCSD Triton Link - > Major - > Select New Major - > Update - > Voila, that’s it lol</p>
