Okay this is probably going to be the most stupid question ever asked, but i’m gonna ask it anyway.

WHY do people actually donate such a large amount of money to a university? Are they alumni or do they just love the school or what?

Alumni usually. Someone I know who is not on that list gave 10 million to USC’s Gould school of law because he got his masters in law there and has been involved in the school ever since.

The college experience can change and define someone’s life and opportunity to succeed so many people who did in fact succeed (well enough to donate) do so to their alma matter.
