<p>The Campaign for USC received two major gifts, both for endowed chairs. Soon-Shiong’s family has endowed a professor chair at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering which will support research that may involve computer science, mobile vision or robotics. The multi million dollar gift will endow the Chan Soon-Shiong Chair.</p>
<p>Mr. Soon-Shiong remarked, “I believe strongly that engineering can help address many of today’s healthcare challenges. I applaud the Viterbi School and USC for their vision and I am delighted to be a part of it.”</p>
<p>The USC School of Cinematic Arts honored the legacy of Cecil B. DeMille by establishing the Cecil B. DeMille Chair for the Study of Silent Film. The new chair was funded by a major gift from CeCe DeMille Presley. On display in the Hugh Hefner Exhibition Hall is a large collection of DeMille memorabilia, including objects from “The Ten Commandments” film and the headress worn in" Joan the Woman" film.</p>
<p>Leaders of the school, the late filmmaker’s granddaughter, CeCe DeMille Presley and students gathered in the Mary Pickford Lobby to share memories of DeMille’s work and celebrate the occasion.</p>
