Major In Poli Sci, minor in music, where to put computer science?

I am struggling to squeeze a degree in computer science into my curriculum. I will be attending LMU as a Freshman this Fall and I plan to major in Political Science and minor in Vocal Music. At first, I was contemplating a double major in political and computer science, but I realized that would be nearly impossible due to the fact that those degrees are from two separate colleges.

Would it be worth it to do a double minor in music and political science? I am very interested in computer science and want to learn some programming and purse the field further than just a class. But I also do not want to take extra classes if a minor won’t benefit me in the workforce.

Do employers really look at minors, and would it be wise to minor in computer science?
Also, say I wanted to return to college later in life and purse a B.S. in computer science. Would the minor allow me to take less classes/get a head start, or would I just start from scratch?

I am interesting in working in the Department of Defense or becoming a (non trial) lawyer (but we have enough of those already, don’t we?). I also wouldn’t mind working for a tech company. I am even starting to debate a major in business rather than poli sci. I thought I had it all worked out but summer has given me a lot of time to think things through even more. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Why can’t you drop the minor in Vocal Music and join a club/take classes outside your major/minor?

Computer science major is a full load of 103 credits, 67 for the major and 46 for science/engineering core. music minor is around 20, political science major is 36 credits, it’s too much with virtually no overlap. Not convinced a computer science minor is really going to get you anywhere useful in the computing world, you might look at job websites or career information sites.
