Which College is best in New York City for majoring in graphic Design?

What are some majors that do not involve a lot of math?

Most art schools do not require a lot of math. Choose a couple of schools you might be interested in and check out their requirements.

Can you suggest me majors that don’t involve excess math?

I am pretty sure for most art majors you just have to take one general math class. And that is just a liberal arts requirement.
Except architecture (which I consider art I guess) which requires quite a bit.

If you’re really afraid of math, you can take something at your local community college over the summer before you start school and get it out of the way while you don’t have any other courses to distract you. There are probably several types of math classes that would satisfy the 1 math class rule that most colleges require.

My daughter is at Mica and they require one science/math class for all students. Here are the current courses they can choose between: Big ideas in science, bioethics, mathematics as experience, objectivity, and science independent study. Not too scary!

My D is a freshman at MCAD, and the liberal arts elective is a 3 cr course from Economic and Mathematical Systems (3 credits)
Includes the classes:

Linear Perspectives: Linear perspective is a mathematical system for creating the illusion of space and distance on a flat surface. It is a seminal event in art
history in which the position of the individual observer became an engine for the development of Modernity. This course focuses on the
historical development of linear perspective and its impact on contemporary conceptions of space and time. Specific attention is given
to recent work in topology, a non-metric mathematics that is interested in relations between things rather than quantitative values or
numbers. Class is an equal mix of lecture and discussion. Students may complete short essay assignments as well as take in-class
examinations

These 2 are in the Bachelor of Science program (the business of art), but it looks like you could take them in any major.
