To major in econ at cas, do you have to take calculus in high school? It’s my junior year and I’m in algebra 2 so I am concerned that I might not be able to take it by senior year.

CAS econ requires you to know algebra and calculus before taking the intermediate econ courses but those courses can be completed as a freshman. You do not have to declare your major as a freshman so you have plenty of time to complete pre-reqs.

I hadn’t even taken Calc I before I came to Stern. The first reply is entirely correct, they’re required for upper-level courses in your major but aren’t required for acceptance. Even if you do take calc in high school, you can’t exempt out of it for freshman year so you’ll be stuck with it regardless.
