Majoring/Minoring

<p>I’m a freshman at ERC. My declared major is IS - Econ. I’m a bit lost as to how this whole double-majoring/minoring thing works.
Say I want to minor in music composition. Can I declare that now? Supposedly I “need to talk to a counselor” about it. So can I just walk to this ERC advising center we have here? Or…<br>
And, should I decide I want to major instead of minor later, can I do so (switch from minor to major)?

<p>I figure you can just walk into advising to talk about it… I wanted a few extra classes so I decided to take a minor in Ethnic Studies. I already had three classes in it, so I went tritonlink and declared the minor. Someone from the department had to approve it, but it went through just fine.</p>
