I see on the list of Penn majors they list “Romance Languages”. Is this a combined major learning all of the romance languages or do they just write to this to save space instead of writing Spanish, French, Italian, etc. ?

bump

also: I just noticed that it lists italian studies, french studies, etc. seperate from romance languages- so what is the difference?

last bump- anyone?

I was at Penn a few weeks ago and I actually stopped by the Romance Languages department and talked to one of the coordinator people because I am interested in major/minoring in a language (if I get in). If you want to major in say…Spanish…you major in Spanish and that is within the romance language department. She also talked about options for double majoring in two languages in the department and such, so to answer your question, I believe the major is in the language of your choice, its just that they are all grouped together in that department.
