make a mistake on my fafasa!

I just submited my fafsa, and then I realized I still have about $1k cash on my hand. I forget to report it on my fafsa. I am going to use those money to pay my tuition because I still have some unpaid fee in my student account. Will it be a problem when the school require me to send my proof about my financial record?

Just wait a couple of days until your FAFSA is processed, and then you’ll be able to go in and make a correction.

I will pay my unpaid fee next week when I go back to school. So I will not have cash on hand when I can correct my fafsa.
If it would not be a problem I will correct my fafsa when I filled my tax form.
Thx for your reply:)

When you update your FAFSA with your tax information, you can correct the asset information as well. It needs to be correct as of the date that you originally filed, so you definitely do need to report that money even if it is no longer around when you make the corrections.

Those money are from my financial aid.
On the fafsa website they said “Do not add student financial aid into your account balances”.

If it’s from financial aid, then you wouldn’t report it. It sounds like you should just leave your FAFSA as is.

I am so confused about the fafsa:(
I need to report my income included the aid. But not on this question.

I’m not sure what you mean. Do you have to pay taxes on your scholarships/grants for 2012?

I am not sure yet. But they ask about how much aid that I got last year.
