make nyu give more money

i think we should tell all accepted applicants to not go to nyu until it gives more money

Shucks, already sent my deposit!

The logistics of planning such a strike would be horrific. Good luck with it though…

lol the people on the waiting list are waiting for somebody like you to come along

and there are thousands of them.

freekobe07, saying, “NYU, give me more money!” is like NYU saying, “freekobe07, pay more of your tuition bill!” NYU doesn’t have the money to give, and I assume you don’t, either. The endowment is pretty small compared to the size of the school. There’s a 2.5 billion dollar fundraiser going on right now, and 600-some million is going to financial aid.

Where do people get this idea that NYU has plenty of money and just doesn’t want to help bright, disadvantaged students because of greed?

They choose to expand in NYC rather than make it possible for disadvantaged, bright students to attend. :P

If NYU was saving their endowment for fin. aid rather than spending it, it would still be considered a third-rate commuter school it was in the 70’s.

Yes, but they’re no longer a third-rate commuter school, so they can focus the money elsewhere.
