If I am applying to a highly selective business school for undergraduate, such as Wharton, would coming in the top 3 in a national (it’s not actually that big, just in Hong Kong) virtual stock exchange competition help me get in or would the effect be minimal?

This is considering that my SAT scores are above average (between 2250 and 2300), my GPA is above average (39 out of 42 predicted for IB = ~4.5W GPA), and my ECs/recommendations/awards/essays are above average.

Restated: "I attend one of the best high schools in my country. I have a very very solid SAT and a great GPA and everything else is above average too.

What are my chances at a top college?"

Well – what do you think? You give chances to other students when they say “chance me, I’ll chance back”. Apply that analysis to your own situation.

Frankly, it strikes me you need to shed this insecurity and get to work on being a real student and enjoying being a real person rather than being on CC so much.
