Make up prospective major?

So I have a 32 on the act but that includes a 35 for the English and reading, 30 for math, and a frickin 26 for science. I got a 29 the time before but the composite was lower so only sent the 32. And I’m the idiot that applied everywhere as a neuroscience major. I’m good in my AP science classes and stuff but idk that section messed me up. I got rejected by a ton of colleges and can’t help but think I should have applied as like an English major in the arts and sciences schools and could always change my mind once I was there. I have a 4.0 and good ECs and first gen student, so I can’t help but think “what if”? I know it’s too late now but has anyone ever heard of doing this? Is there anything someone can say to make me feel better? Lol

This is unlikely to be the reason that you were rejected by a ton of colleges. A 26 on the science section is in the 86th percentile, which is very good. And if you are applying to colleges where you can easily change your major, most of those take whatever you put with a grain of salt anyway given that you could easily put whatever you wanted regardless of whether or not it was your actual intention.

See http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1947599-faq-does-intended-major-make-it-easier-or-more-difficult-to-get-into-a-college.html . If a college has different admission standards for different majors, changing into the more difficult-for-admission major after enrolling probably requires going through another admission process.

I would be in arts and sciences so I wouldn’t have to reapply, it would be just like changing my major within the school.
