So I’m finishing up my essay for Pitzer right now. this is the prompt: Reflecting on Pitzer’s core values (intercultural understanding, social responsibility, interdisciplinary emphasis and student autonomy), what is your dream for your time at Pitzer and how will that influence you to make a positive impact?

My conclusion paragraph is about how I got interested in law. I love language, which makes me think that law would be a good career choice. But unlike the stereotypical lawyer, I don’t want to be that sly, cunning Mercedes-driving guy…I want to work for a nonprofit providing legal services to women who have had abusive husbands. The reason for this is because I had a friend who had an emotionally abusive father, and this caused her to eventually drop out of school. I don’t want anyone hindered from being successful because of family violence. I talked about this in my essay, but I’m worried that maybe this subject matter isn’t appropriate for an essay…any thoughts?
