<p>What should I study in college if I want to make lots of money now and for the rest of my life without knowing anyone and/or forming relationships with anyone?</p>

<p>That is hardly unlikely. You can’t make money fast and not interact with anyone; no-one will want to operate business with you. Essentially, business includes a lot of public relations (not saying you should take advantage of people, rather, its about striking a deal with people). </p>
<p>If you want quick money and no interaction, then go rob a bank or something.</p>
<p>What about stock market trading?</p>
<p>Thats interesting. I wonder how many better qualified people get passed over cause the companies hire their relatives and friends. Then i bet theres all kinds of problems that brings like affairs at work and stuff.</p>
<p>That’s easy. Go study any of the following:</p>
<p>financial engineering, economics, applied math, physics, computer science (with an emphasis on finance)</p>
<p>And afterward you work as: </p>
<p>You either go work as an independent trader on any of the major stock/futures/commodities exchanges.</p>
<p>Or </p>
<p>You can work as a proprietary trader for any large investment banks like Goldman Sachs</p>
<p>or</p>
<p>You can work as a portfolio manager or trader at a hedge fund </p>
<p>After all these:</p>
<p>You will make MORE than $1 million a year. IF you are good. The best hedge fund manager last year made $4 billion (in 1 year). </p>
<p>And dude, $1 million ?? Seriously, you mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger. :)</p>

<p>stock market trading is one hell of risk as far as making it your career goes. if you were to do that on the side (i.e. aside from a steady income job) then go ahead.</p>

<p>Face it, you have to interact with people in the business world.</p>
<p>stop looking for the easy way out. Even professional basket weaving requires connections in order to become successful. Do what interests you, and stop looking for some “get rich quick” job, cuz they dont exist.</p>
<p>learn stats and game theory, buy 2 more monitors, and start playing poker</p>

<p>I can’t think of any other ways to make such income without either having been born into wealth or interacting with others.</p>

<p>If you go into trading you still need to form relationships especially if you work at a firm.</p>
