I’m a high school senior looking into colleges now. I am very diligent but also very quiet. I want to make long-lasting friendships in college. What university is better and which worse for making close friends? It’s difficult to really know this without hardcore experience

This is an absurd question because many people of all stripes make close friends in college, although it’s probably easier for students who don’t commute an hour to school each way. Some students, quiet ones included, find that they make their life long friends at a 50,000 student state school, while others socially excel at a tiny LAC like Deep Springs.
I’d suggest that you visit different types of schools (large, mid-size, small) in different types of locations and see where you feel most comfortable. We went through this process with my quiet and diligent son and he found he gravitated towards mid-sized universities with small classes but everyone is different – you have to do the legwork and see what works for you.
