Making graphene from sugar, Rice-style

<p>Once again, Rice research (both social science and science-science) is getting widely reported … this just in from Futurity.</p>

<p>To be honest, I hadn’t the slightest idea what graphene was when I posted this item – though I figured lots of Owls and aspiring Owls would know all about it – not to mention this year’s Physics Nobel Prize winners … so, I’m adding a little background now.
