As I’ve mentioned, I transferred to my school in fall 2008, and took a semester off this semester after being there for a week. I plan to go back this summer and continue on. I will be able to do more clubs because they will not all meet at the same time as they did last semester. However, there were some people in the club which I joined who liked me, including a freshman, and there were two freshman girls who I saw around a lot from the club. I want to be friends with these people, but it is going to be much harder this fall because they won’t be freshmen? I know making friends in my grade will be hard, as I’ll be a junior at my school. How long does it take to make close friends at college?

Well, it depends on a lot of things. It will be harder I would think, because upperclassmen seem to have less time to party and socialize and therefore form friendships.

I am an upperclassmen and the majority new friends I have made are people that I meet on a regular basis. I have a lot of the same people in my classes, and classmates who I sit by, also people in clubs or organizations I belong to.

This might be a good thing, since people you meet in your classes and clubs have similar interests, and might be quicker to form a friendship with you.
