Making silly mistakes

I’ve taken somewhere close to 8 practice tests over the past couple of weeks. My highest scores in each category are 34, 35, 36, 35 (Writing, Math, Reading, Science).

The problem is I seem to be horribly inconsistent; Sometimes I’ll take a test and get something like a 34, then a 28 directly after that. I go back and look at the questions I got wrong, and they’re extremely silly. This includes things like forgetting to add two numbers, selecting an answer choice on the testing sheet that I didn’t actually choose (selecting the wrong answer after actually getting the correct one in the work I did), misreading the question, etc etc.

It seems to me that my focus comes and goes, and sometimes I will simply read the question too quickly(?), and completely miss what the main point was. Perhaps this is testing anxiety, which I experience during most exams. Does anyone have any experiences similar to mine?
How could I modify my test taking strategy/approach to prevent things like this from happening?

I had no focus at all today with my math sections. I also suffer from anxiety. I use relaxation techniques when i feel myself getting panicky. It does help.

Scoring above 28 on most of my practice tests had made me feel more confident and that is a big deal for me.

I write in the book a lot and that has also helped. Especially in science.

Good luck
