Making up for lost opportunities

I’m an economics major at OU. I graduated from highschool assuming my financial situation and my grades wouldn’t allow me to attend any particularly ambitious university. I decided to go to OU first, then I decided to be an Economics major without doing to much research into OU’s economic program. I feel like I could transfer into a university with a better economics programs in the U.S., but would there be a huge difference between one of the top 20 economic undergraduate programs and OU’s program? I know their are better job opportunities present at universities with better major specific programs, but would the quality of the knowledge acquired differ much. In other words what kind of advantages would transferring to another university give me? Any advice or opinion on the topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
