Man I'm so hyped for R-day! Can't wait! Class of 2012!

I just want to articulate my thoughts and feelings about the greatest elite school in the world, West Point, that I will be attending!! I am Korean, and I also have a twin brother who will be attending West Point this June, and supposedly, we ended up having and achieving this one, excellent goal: To get into West Point! Well, to tell you the truth, the process of application was arduous and tedious! But it was well worth it, because we both got in! Two brothers in one family both attending West Point! And, this was the ONLY SCHOOL that we applied, so it was ALL or NOTHING! We are very strong, pious Christian and thankfully God did listened to our prayers! My parents did not have money to pay for college, but thankfully we got into a college that actually pays us! My dad is a taxi driver, and my mom works at a shopping center, so that kind of shows what our financial life is like! Well, my parents are excited but at the same time, depressed to see their twin sons leaving home to serve the greatest country in the world, America!

For me, I can’t wait until I go through suffering and difficulty during the training. I can’t wait until I obtain that firm, military mentality; I can’t wait until I become a great leader who I will serve for the country that I love! I mean I need to suffer in order to understand Jesus’ heart when he suffered throughout the road of cruxification! I know that my brother and I will be both be putting our lives on the line whatever we do, and do things endlessly!

We have been taught to wake up everyday at 4 am, and start our days early. We have been taught to sleep only 4-5 hours. We have been taught to be alert like a soldier, but at the same time, smile. We have been taught to whatever we do, we must do it as if our lives our on the line!
All these great training we obtained was from this greatest pastor who had profound experience at Vietnam War.

I am ready to serve America! Sorry, I guess I just had to let this out, because I couldn’t sleep! Well, class of 2012, I will see u guys this JuNE!!!

LoL, you can’t miss the twin asian boys at West Point!

Congrats to you and your brother. Your parents and your community must be very proud!!

The cadre will be pretty excited too!!!
Good Luck!

Peteyflow -

Now that you’ve given enough information about yourself on this forum for all of the cadets at WP to not only identify you but also your brother, I strongly suggest you watch what you write.

When you are a new cadet (then plebe) the whole idea is to be as inconspicuous as possible.

Wow, peteyflow, congratulations to you and your brother! :)

I would agree with wpmom–we can totally understand your excitment, but be careful not to say too much abt yourself that might come back to bite you during beast. The cadre are watching and waiting—stay “low in the foxhole”. :)

All I can say is wow! Also that I am too old (42) to be getting only 4-5 hrs of sleep per day. I am the last to go to bed and the first to wake up. Again…WOW that you can live on 4-5 hrs per day.

Best of luck to you and your brother, I am sure you will make America proud. As a Mom I think I might sleep for 3 weeks straight after you leave :D

I do agree that it might be good to play down who you are. On another site there was a you tube thread about a kid going to USAFA who posted something on myspace. The you tube shows him being berated at BCT. The cadets can easily find incoming asian twins and start screaming to you :

As a parent, you would not be able to keep me from screaming out our window of your accomplishment. You should also be very proud of making your dreams come true…best wishes…I hope all of your wishes come true in your future career. Best of luck…GO ARMY BEAT NAVY

Don’t worry, it’s coming soon enough.

Now also known as Target #1 and Target #2. :D

You’ll be forced to get about an average of 8 hours of sleep during Beast. Just enjoy your free time now and don’t stress out about it.

Congrats! Have fun and enjoy your senior year of high school!
You will not have such an another 4 years of high school that U.S. provides to students. You won’t probably understand what and how native Korean K-12 students are situated in S.Korea.
Good luck, and don’t forget that USMA is not a college, but the institution that produces leaders who will lead the future of America.
Go Army! Beat NAVY!

Congrats! Incidentally, were you two at SLS this summer? I remember seeing twin asian guys somewhere.

oh shoot, I just realized I made us the targets… sorry for being a big mouth!

I think you at least owe your twin brother a T-shirt he can wear to I-Day that says: “No, It wasn’t me. It was my brother.” :)

im trying to delete my post, but i can’t find it!!!

You can’t, it is there for prosterity. You only get 20 minutes to edit. Or you can always hope that someone starts cursing on it and the mods get involved.

The damage is done, I am pretty sure there are enough WP people that they already know…all you can hope for is that they are too busy harrassing others that they forget about you.

This is February - you’re not reporting until late June. If you refrain from commenting on this thread (and hopefully others will too) it could sink into oblivion, and the cadets that have read this will probably not really remember the specifics come R-Day.

Try not to worry. You will be getting “attention” anyway, as does all the new cadets/plebes. The enthusiasm and dedication you’ve displayed on this thread is not the worst thing the cadre can know about you. ;)

If I were a moderator, I would delete this.
If it doesn’t get deleted, someone should start cursing out of courtesy to peteyflow.

AmericanKid, there is no reason to shut down the thread…it does not follow the CC guidelines. No one was offended, nobody is being insensitive, nothing has been said that is inflammatory. Youthful indiscretion is about all this thread is about

wpmom2011 is right…there is enough time that this will most likely not come up at all. Having the thread shut down, would highlight the situation…and then they would be known as the twins that highlighted themselves and got the thread locked.

As far as cursing…I am not willing to be banned for that…I suggest you don’t either. This is not a sword you want to fall on.

Another option: don’t stand anywhere near your brother and maybe no one will notice the twins…come w/ totally different haircuts, too!

I don’t think this is as serious as you all are making it out to be. Stuff like coming with an attitude or perfectly shined low quarters will bring more un-wanted acknowledgment of your existence, then this post. Just some advice form some one who’s been there.
