Hi,

I am going to be attending UGA Honors next year and I plan to major in Genetics and either double or minor in Management or Management Information Systems. Can someone please explain me the difference between Management and Management Information Systems?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Management is basically Business Administration at its most general.

Management Information Systems focuses on the design and optimization of information systems to increase business value. While this sounds very technical, many MIS majors are in Analyst, Consulting, and Management roles where they “bridge the gap” between technical workers and business oriented leaders. It is a growing field that is actively seeking students to meet the large demand.

I don’t know how either would mesh well with genetics, but good luck!
