MAP Grant

I was recently awarded MAP Grant, but my school is making things difficult. First of all, I was awarded MAP Grant in May, after I filed an appeal form. I was granted MAP grant for two semesters, fall 2017 and spring 2018. The amount I received is bigger than what I owe to my school (I am in my last semester, graduating in three weeks). Anyway, I was unable to pay that small, last portion of my tuition and my school put a hold on my NCLEX exam.
When I spoke to financial aid, they told me that they do not see any MAP grants being awarded. After I showed them my school email (sent by financial aid), they said that I was correct I was awarded the money but they do not have it and had no idea when I could expect it. They only said, they would send me refund once they get the money.

My concern is am I really going to get the refund, considering that they were quick to tell me there was no MAP award for me? Also, considering my low income for 2017 and 2018, I am not sure why I wasn’t awarded MAP grant during the regular application process but had to file an appeal.

I am going to leave this school with a huge debt and I don’t want to lose this money because of their incompetency? Anything I can do? Or if anyone knows how MAP grants work (never got one before).
