MARCH 2014 SAT VOCAB

Did anyone else find that the vocab section on this test was fairly simple? I studied about 1000 words and only about 1 of them was on the test…the rest were sorta common sense words.

salubrious and effete were easy for you?

I got the salubrious one wrong D; I didn’t know what placebo was :/

Awesome

placebo was a weird word…ribald was luckily on one of my vocab lists

Ribald and Celerity were a bit difficult, but through process of elimination I got them both… no idea what they meant before the test haha

How was placebo a weird word? Haha.

Wait a second. Does the test require one to have knowledge that the thing was not a serious medicine? That doesn’t sound very standardized to me. Requiring one to know placebo does follow the rules of the SAT, though.

I had no idea what any of the words on the ribald question meant so I left that blank (probably wouldn’t have guessed ribald so that’s good).

Celerity means swiftly. It was the answer, I got that correct

I used process of elimination to get to ribald. I knew that effete means effeminate so that helped. The
vocab book I use had cursory, droll and cogent. So I guessed ribald and got it right. I thought that the March CR was much harder than the January CR. Hope this will result in a lenient scale.
