March 29 Wave

STILL have not heard from USC and I live in SoCal… getting frustrated

This is frustrating. D<

Socal … nothing still.

This is frustrating. Has anyone called the admissions office to ask whats up?

i got rejected

what’s w/ admissions this year? i get waitlisted at stanford, accepted at pomona, yet rejected here. hmm… oh well. at least there’s finally closure.

good luck to the rest of you.

should’ve put more effort into the app, i guess.

if its sent regular mail that means rejection right?
because i live in southern california and still have not recieved it
and i think it was sent snail mail
so thats for sure a rejection, right?

Seriously. Alright, so i sent in my sir to UCLA because i thought for sure I was rejected from USC because i wasn’t acted upon till today, but now I am hearing that that could indeed be good news. Whats the story? Did i waste 100 bucks?

No one really knows. =/ I mean, I went acted on back on the 29th and still haven’t gotten anything. While I live in Texas, others that live in California haven’t heard from USC either even though they went “acted on” on the 29th too. Then I hear they mailed a bunch of stuff today…so what’s the deal? Why would they put me on “acted on” the 29th if my stuff hadn’t been mailed yet, which I’m assuming is what happened because there’s no way I didn’t get something by now if USC really mailed it Friday. I mean, Boston U mailed something on the 28th and I got it yesterday and it was an acceptance package too.

You guys really need to stop speculating. Most acceptances have not arrived yet. Stop trying to bring up trends between the stupid website, and whether you were accepted or not. As has been proven in other threads, no trends exist.

WAIT UNTIL YOU GET YOUR OWN LETTER. THEN, YOU CAN SAY WHETHER OR NOT YOU WERE ACCEPTED. UNTIL THEN, ANYTHING ELSE IS FOOLISH.

Well said Zotan. People need to take a deep breath and chill a bit. There’s more to life than college. Yes college is a BIG milestone in life, but no matter where you go it doesn’t ultimately decide how successful you are in life. You have to take what you have and as Tim Gunn on Project Runway says ‘Make it Work’. Well that’s my soapbox.

My application said it was acted on 4/1. I got accepted for Spring.

I called USC and told them i live in southern California
and i have not received anything yet

the guy asked my app ID and pulled up my stuff
he told me that my stuff was sent friday
but it was sent regular mail, so it could take a while
he basically told me i got rejected

Ouch. I want to call, but I know it’s bad news.

nachopatado, somebody said on another post that everything is sent regular mail, nothing is priorioty. i think they said they had talked to an admissions person. so dont be totally sure of a rejection!

I think someone mentioned that they called admission in the other forums and that admission sent everything standard mail on this last wave.

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH

you gave me hope and relief for the the night at least
if i get rejected from SC

its either berkeley, ucsd, or pitzer for me

hopefully SC

How long does it take to get from CA to TX in standard mail? XD

idk, but i think that unless its a rejection, its priority. because mine was priority and i’m a spring admit. I got mine on the march 30th and it was dated march 27…so that took 3 days

March 30th is a sunday

They probably got the date wrong. Did you mean Monday? Yesterday?

Nickel- my son’s letter was dated 3/27 with no postmark on the envelope and it arrived at our house in Dallas today. It was bad news, though. So maybe since yours is taking longer you’ll be getting a different message.
