^^^What she said.

Just checking in on my iPhone as I’m at place that has no wireless. But I was getting up each morning after games and checking scores from the night before… and having my jaw hit the floor. What a wild ride it’s been. With UConn in it, H is very excited since he’s from CT. Looking forward to getting into Houston Friday and seeing the excitement of people arriving. Oh, and H and D1 have already entered the lottery for next year in New Orleans. H entered for four tickets and D1 entered for 2. I think they’ve started new annual tradition. If they get four, the whole family goes. If it’s just two, H and D1 go.

Anyone want to join teriwtt in Houston? My niece has four tickets center court mezzanine level she’s looking to sell at below the stubhub price.

OMG!!! I only need one. H and D1 already have them. I don’t have one, as I never intended on attending the games, but I really want to go now. Am picking H and D1 up from the airport tomorrow, early evening.

Rented a car out of Corpus Christi today and got upgraded to a Mustang convertible and drove all the way to Houston with the top down (about a four-hour drive). Decided not to tell my brothers I arrived today because I wanted to get together with some friends tonight and tomorrow for lunch. So yesterday I made reservations at a hotel near the Galleria (for those who know Houston) since it’s centrally located. Arrived this afternoon and the Galleria area is completely decked out… inflatable basketballs at the intersections. Final Four banners hanging from light posts, etc. You could feel the excitement. Checked into my hotel and noticed a lot of blue balloon arches in the lobby, but didn’t think much of it. Got up to my room, turned on the news and heard that all four teams are staying in the Galleria area. So when I went back downstairs, I asked around and found out the Butler team is staying in my hotel! Don’t think I’ve seen any players, but it’s kind of exciting that one of them could literally be in a room above, below or next to me at this moment, likely trying to get rid of butterflies in their stomach and sleep. But I’m checking out tomorrow to spend the rest of the time at my brother’s house.

No dog in this game, but my Bulldogs are still there! I wish Butler and VCU didn’t have to play each other, but whoever wins that game is the team I hope wins it all.

ABK, I agree go UConn (but don’t win it all).

You will know it when you see a player. They are very tall. And- most likely they will be wearing something that says “Butler”.

So- here goes Calipari for his 3rd Final Four- but, really, according to NCAA he’s making his debut since he was stripped of the first two and they aren’t in NCAA records!

MOWC - Well, I have seen a number of very tall people, but I’m sort of wondering if when they’re in the hotel, they might not want to stand out (no pun intended) and have people stalking them, so they might be more inconspicuous in their clothing.

I suspect the police presence I see here at the hotel, too, is not part of their everyday M.O.

What soccerguy said re Shaka; hoping he’s right. I read up on Butler’s coach - current salary undisclosed (he signed a VERY long term contract), but Butler U’s President was quoted as saying (before the salary nego) that they could go to $1 million.

Of course, that’s not a public U.

Just dropped H and D1 off at Reliant Stadium. Soooo much energy in the air. Based on the four teams left, we’re thinking Butler will beat VCU (but it will be very, very close), and UConn will beat Kentucky. Then it will be a UConn win over Butler.

HAHA… I love it when I catch a major editing error on a major news outlet source. MSN headlines: VCA vs. Butler

teriwtt,

Did you not get a ticket after all?

Go Bulldogs!

I think Kentucky will beat UConn IF they play as well as they have been playing.

At a press conference a reporter asked Coach Cal how it felt to be coaching at his first Final Four. He was not amused.

I am impressed with VCU, but here’s what I’m feeling lately.
I’m a little bored with the whole “no one respected us” story line. No one respected you because you were horribly mediocre during the season and playing well now doesn’t change that. I kind of enjoy how Stevens and Butler are just like, yeah, we’re Butler, we’re in the Final Four, that’s what we do.

Ugh, hate the camera angle. Playing the most important games of the year in completely different environments is so stupid.

ESPN reporting that the NCAA is already investigating Kentucky for illegal texting and other recruiting violations. LOL. Of course, they also say, it was an “assistant coach”
;), and Cashipari didn’t “know.”
;)

Kentucky will win. They will vacate the win.

I like Butler and VCU. Funny how Butler’s been forced into the old timers so fast. Much more parity in basketball than there used to be.

25 teams made it to the Final Four from 2000-2009, 23 made it between 1990 and 1999, 27 made it in the 80’s, and 28 made it in the 80’s. Seems like less parity to me.

Very disappointed that VCU did not win but now hope that Butler can go all the way this time. Go Bulldogs!

Yeah!

Now to root for UConn, but only for tonight.

Teriwtt from your lips to Gods ears. Go Huskies!

Come on, Huskies! Two teams in the final four.
