Hi,
I was wondering what I should do to prepare for the essay part of the SAT?
Thanks,
BreakingSAT…one section at a time.

Practice writing the sample prompts in the BB.

What do you mean by BB? “Blue Book”

Yes, BB=Blue Book, The Official Study Guide put out by the college board with 10 official practice tests/past tests.

One of the single most important factors for doing well on the essay is getting used to writing A LOT within the 25 minute time limit. There are all kinds of studies showing that length matters – something like 90% of the students who write 500 or more words end up getting an 11 or 12. You need to produce a long essay not by rambling and saying in 5 sentences what you could say in 2; rather, you need to be able to develop your paragraphs by setting up an idea you are going to support through your example and then squeezing as much as possible out of your example as you can. Most students begin their topic sentence immediately with their example and then run out of things to say after 4-5 sentences. So to prepare, 1) practice developing your speed through timed writings (you need not write an entire essay; you can do a 5 minute timed writing for a paragraph; and 2) work on your paragraph development and practice setting up your examples and then saying as much about them that you can so long as what you say is relevant to the prompt/helping you support your point.

Thanks.

Can I ask something? Why are you taking the SAT in March if you are still in 8th grade? Is it for a talent search or something?

I am taking it so I can take a class at a community college and skip Bio and go to Chem.

^lol just take the accuplacer test then lmao
