I believe you. My band friends complain of their muscle pains.

Tubachick, do you play the tuba? Why are you playing other instruments anyways. Even though Sousachick sounds okay, it is not right.

Keep in mind that it’s band geeks complaining about muscle pain, not athletes.

Hey, as said before I have done other sports.

Yes, I do play tuba. It’s my main instrument. I’ve just recently picked up baritone for marching, along with sousa.

sousa=marching version of tuba

mm tubachick, considering how heavy baritone horns are, i dont think you’ll have any problem bulking up for sousa next year!

you have to believe us when we say that not getting creamed by colorguard/other people while marching step and doing about 10 minutes worth of memorized choreography does leave you feeling like you just ran a few suicides. if nothing else, it gives us awesome hamstrings! heck yes! :)

You can’t march with a tuba (which rests on your lap), so tuba players use sousaphones, which rests on one shoulder.

Do you march with a brass sousa, or a fiberglass one?

DCI people march with those hardcore marching tubas over their shoulders, idk how they do it!

Brass, or at least if I did march the sousa it would be brass. :)

I wish we’d get fiberglass. I think they look better, although unfortunatly they don’t sound better. They’re either sharp or flat, I can’t recall.

^Niether do I. I could never do that.

Cutieflutie08 Ha, I don’t feel it as much in my hamstrings just yet, but I do feel it in my arms. The bariton isn’t really that heavy, but it’s enough for a 6 1/2 hour day. :)
