We are considering going to check out these two schools for Engineering and are wondering if anyone has any experience with them. We have already visited some bigger schools, as well as tech schools, and are adding liberal arts schools to our list now. Marian’s program is partnered with IUPUI-so you’d get a BS at Marian and then a BS in whatever Engineering from Purdue. Evansville has a program there already. Both schools sell themselves well-but I’ve been fooled before by schools that sell themselves well and then we get there and the program is week (St. Norbert, Millikin, St. Ambrose for example). Don’t want a commuter school-would prefer students to live on campus. Don’t want a school that is known for online classes. Don’t want a school that is poorly ranked.

The Marian / IUPUI program is a 5 year program, but is not a 3+2 program (students may commute between campuses during terms when they have some classes at each campus). The majors are limited to math or chemistry from Marian, and biomedical, electrical, or mechanical at IUPUI.

Is Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on your list?
Millikin has a very small engineering program that is a 3 + 2. Three years at Millkin and 2 years at another school (Washington in St. Louis, I think). They are more a music and theater school. Rose-Hulman in Indiana has an excellent reputation. Research and check out Bradley University in Peoria. Town is equal to Decatur but they have an Avanti’s very close to campus.
