Prompt: Pick one woman in history or fiction to converse with for an hour and explain your choice. What would you talk about? (250 word limit)

So, for this prompt I was thinking of either writing about Marie Colvin, an award-winning war correspondent who lost her life in 2012 covering the Syrian Civil War or Agnes Varda, a French New Wave filmmaker who made feminist films in the midst of the quite sexist films of the more well-known French New Wave filmmakers like Godard and Truffaut.

Since I am interested in journalism and world events, I would talk with Marie Colvin about what it was like to be in the middle of war, what things she witnessed most affected or disturbed her, what it was like to be a female war correspondent, her motivations, what kept her going, etc… For Agnes Varda I would discuss her philosophy on filmmaking, how she felt during the period of the French New Wave, which was revolutionary in many ways yet treated women in the same old way (must have been frustrating), what gave her the courage to go a different route, and so on…

I thought these two were a bit more original than, you know, Joan of Arc, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth I, etc. (not that I wouldn’t like to speak with all of them for an hour, too.)

But, errr… just realized. These two aren’t exactly “women in history”? :x Colvin passed away last year, and Varda is still living…

So 2 questions, actually: Do I have to choose a woman who’s from further in the past? And of the two, which one should I pick?
