Hi there…has anyone applied before early action, but still has not been sent a portal to set up? I think I remember the same with my 2024 kid, but not fully sure. I find it odd that we have not had any communication from Marist advising that they received the application. Anyone else?

My oldest is a senior there so I am really reaching for memories of applying…but I can tell you they still inform decisions via snail mail…so I dont remember them being speedy about portal setup since applicants are not informed via that route. I believe if you go into your childs common app account, you can see if each applied to school has downloaded thei application from it yet.
My 25 was accepted (went somewhere else) and Marist didn’t use portal in same ways as other schools.

They are very receptive if your child wants to shoot an email to admissions with questions. I have always gotten fast responses to emails from several departments at Marist.

My daughter applied EA and she has still not received anything in her inbox. Sounds like others have had this issues so trying not o worry too much, but she just messaged admissions to confirm receipt. Hopefully it’s just how they process applications at Marist and all is good! Have you heard anything yet?
Definitely write admissions, which sounds like you did. They never received our EA application. My child sent them a screenshot of the Common App submission. Even when we checked in at an open house after we applied, they had no record of my child’s email account (so we knew something was off). Apparently, they were having issues like this since I saw other people post about the same thing. It was resolved immediately after I alerted them, and then my child received a link to set up the portal. Write to them and ask to ensure you are still considered for EA. Marist was extremely helpful in resolving the issue quickly. My kiddo really enjoyed the open house! Great programs and a beautiful university.
Last year, parents on CC reported their kids started receiving Marist decisions via regular mail from December 9 to December 15, through January. It would be nice to see a red envelope this week:)
Yes it would! I get very nervous checking USPS informed delivery because I’m so scared to see a regular sized envelope from Marist.

Nothing in the mail today. Also, do they release ED and then EA?
I think ED was notified already. Someone on Facebook said their kid was already notified for ED.

No regular white envelope in the mail from Marist today- at least according to Informed Delivery!

If I remember correctly from 2024, it was a large red envelope or red and white, but I think it was a large envelope:)
Yes- my concern is seeing a small, #10 envelope from Marist because that would most likely hold a rejection/deferral/waitlist letter LOL.
The parents from last year did not see the big envelope on the Informed Delivery portal so no news is good news for now I think!! 
(This gives portal astrology a whole new meaning!)

We know a kid who got accepted ED about 10 days ago.
There seems to be a glitch in the Marist systems. Our son applied EA right before the deadline, and the portal confirmed that the application was submitted and complete. The next day, he received an email saying that they had extended his EA deadline because the application wasn’t fully submitted. He also got a mailer two weeks ago asking him to apply to Marist. We called admissions twice, and they said his application was ok and there’s just a glitch in the system. The waiting is the hardest part.
