Marist vs Fordham (for 11K/yr more) for Business school, Finance

Student likes both (for different reasons). Attended accepted student days.
Worth the extra 11K?
He has 9 other “yes-es” but these two made the short list.

Can your family comfortably afford.the price differential ( no loans, no hardship)? If so, you can let your child choose.

For full disclosure a number of years ago my S had these colleges (and a couple more) in his final mix. He ultimately chose Fordham’s Gabelli school (as an accounting major) – he gravitated towards the combination of having an urban location along with a traditional campus that Rose Hill offered. He had a great experience.

Congrats on the acceptances.

As one of many perspectives this student might consider, Fordham appears in this article on colleges with strong alumni networks:

What does he want to do with his finance degree. If Wall Street type roles, likely Fordham. If regular corporate finance type roles, it likely matters less.

Have you looked at career outcomes, of both, to see how their kids do?

This career data is a bit old from Fordham - but you might reach out for a detailed report asking what jobs people took and where - with salaries by discipline - and you want to know if that salary (this says $71K) is base or includes bonuses (sign on, performance expectations, etc.).

Same for Marist. Their reports they both show are - somewhat base - and I’m sure they have a lot better data.

Good luck.

Can you afford to pay the extra 11k without parental loans?
If so, let him choose.
If not, is Marist affordable without parental debt?

Thank you!

If the cost differential is not a problem, Fordham is the clear winner over Marist for undergraduate business.
