So emory asked me to fill out a market survey, and I did. The wording said that the survey was sent to “prospective students.” I’m currently on both waitlists; is this indicative of anything or do they send the survey to all the waitlisted students?

I didn’t get one, and I’m on the waitlist…now I’m nervous haha. Did they send you an email about this survey? What did it say?

April 17, 2012

"Hello from Emory! As prospective students, we would like to hear from you about your experience with Emory and other schools and the thought and effort that goes into the decision of choosing a school.

As a Thank You for your time, by completing the survey, you will qualify to be entered into a sweepstakes drawing to win an Apple iPad."

^email intro. but they also said it has no bearing on admissions, so this probably doesn’t mean anything. </3

Strange. Anyway, good luck with the waitlist! I’m waiting to hear as well.

Same case here…when I received the email I was like “EMORY I am on your waitlist, and what’s this!?”

I didn’t get one. Did you ever visit Emory? That may be why.

@SAT100:
Not really, I did not visit Emory campus and did no interview. And I always consider this as one of the reasons I am on their waitlist…

I wouldn’t connect the survey to admission chances.
They’re trying to improve the process for future applicants.
If you have a minute, help out next year’s applicants.
If not, no worries.

@wxphoya It’s quite possibly the only reason you (and I) are on the waitlist.

“Ask the school about criteria for getting on, and off, the list. Emory University in Atlanta says that the students on its wait-list are typically those with academic credentials matching those of students who were admitted but who didn’t demonstrate any special interest in or affection for Emory by, for example, visiting the campus or attending a local recruiting session.”

I got rejected, it means nothing…
