Marketing in Northwestern GPA&SAT's

I am currently a sophomore and wanna try to apply for northwestern…
&&my major’s marketing.

What’s the required GPA and SAT scores (both 1&2) if I wanna major in marketing at Northwestern?

How many extracurricular activities do I need?
As of right now… I am a starter/president of a club… and in cross country/track&field.
I also have been doing community service since 7th grade.

I know it’s not enough… so I’m trying to raise my GPA for coverup…
Pleaseee help if you know! thank youu!

a little confused: you want to apply as a junior? or do you mean as a senior for ED/RD.

there’s no “required” or cut off for GPA and SAT scores when you apply to virtually any college. In fact, there’s really no formula of Grades/scores/extracurric that will guarantee admission anywhere. For Northwestern, to be admitted at all I think you have to be pretty well rounded, strong in various areas.

here’s a general idea of the kids who matriculate however:

Middle 50%
SAT Critical Reading: 670 - 750
SAT Math: 690 - 780
SAT Writing: 670 - 750
ACT Composite: 30 - 33

source: CollegeBoard.com (not sure how accurate, but i’m guessing it’s a good estimate. i couldn’t find stats from the NU site. anyone?)

Also a word of caution: Just from common experience, I’ve found that by 10th grade, not very many kids declare a major realistically. If you are absolutely sure that you want to go into marketing (as in, you’ve wanted to do this your entire life), then the best thing would be for you to apply yourself in that field as best you can as a high schooler. Otherwise, you should keep yourself open to a little wider range of interests. Remember, it’s not a matter of how many ECs you take, but the types and how they are relevant to you as a person.

aahh thank youu!!
yeah im a soph… but i wanna start preparing.
well i think ill really enjoy marketing  ive been wanting to do this for a longg time now
i dont know what ecs relate to marketing tho…

thank you againnn !

Also, Northwestern has no marketing major. A number of clubs and a some BIP classes in marketing, but no major.

Though refreshing as it is that you’ve already thought about your major, don’t be too rushed about it.

And here’s the stats I found from Princeton Reviews Best Colleges 2008 (I dont’ think this is considered copyright infringement):
Range SAT Critical Reading: 650-740
Range SAT Math: 670-760
Range SAT Writing: 650-740
Range ACT Composite: 29-33

EDIT: This seems a little bit slack. The data above seems more accurate.
