Marketing major needed for marketing career?

I’m currently a rising sophomore at Penn and I’ve been accepted into a dual-degree program with Wharton. I know it’s a really good opportunity, but I’m hesitant because I have other interests such as global health and nutrition that I would want to explore and a dual-degree plan leaves very very little room for exploration. I am fascinated by marketing and would want to pursue it as a career, but I was wondering how pertinent the Wharton education is (the finance, accounting, management, legal studies classes) to being hired for and being successful at a marketing job.

Thanks!

bump :(?

Dude get your business degree from Wharton and do whatever you want, marketing isn’t exactly a major you have to have a specific degree for.

That’s what I was wondering - could I just get a Penn CAS econ degree instead? Wharton has a lot of requirements that would require about 6cu a semester plus summer class even with clever double counting for a dual degree…
