Markley dorm information

So I found out my dorm information, but I was curious if there is any more detailed information you all could provide. The housing website doesn’t really say anything.

I’m on the 5th floor in Scott House. What does the house mean? I know there are a lot of different ones. Also, is my floor co-ed?

Thanks

I lived in Markley last year, here’s what you need to know:

It is old. Rooms are quite small, i’m sure you know that though.
The fluorescent lighting and narrow hallways aren’t the most extravagant.
No air conditioning, you’ll want a fan.

Other than that stuff to scare you, it is the best freshman dorm experience by far. You’ll be stuck with like a thousand other freshmen, it is near impossible not to meet people.
The Hideaway is a cafe-ish thing on the first floor/basement. It has awesome late night greasy food for your post-partying appetite, or “studying” as you will tell your parents.
Solid computer lab with more than enough big screen computers and printers, plus plenty of social events to help the transition to college.

I wouldn’t pick anywhere else to live as a freshman.

Oh to answer your questions:

 1. Scott house is just the name of your hall. That’s on the front side. The building is shaped like a huge “H” with the cafeteria being the connector
 2. Not sure if the halls stay the same between years. If your hall is co-ed it isn’t like your next door neighboor or people across from you will be opposite sex. The halls are split in the middle

I agree with lax - bring a fan.

I think 2nd floor Little House is the only coed corridor in Markley. Other floors are split in the middle like warrior said.
