Marks Tower Dresser Width?

Hi, My daughter is going to get a TV set for her dorm room and is thinking the best place to put it might be on top of the dresser. Does anyone know the width of the dressers in Marks?

Thanks in advance if you can help –

Sorry I can’t answer your question; I have one of my own. I’m living in Pardee and thinking about putting my TV on the windowsill, if it’ll fit. Above the microwave would be a safety hazard, and on top of the dresser would block my view of the gasp mirror. Problem is, the sun would probably be shining on it for most of the day. Is it bad to have direct sunlight shining on a new TV?

isn’t Pardee mostly aligned east to west, and so the dorm windows mostly face north and south? so, how much direct sun you get depends on what side of the building you’re on…and i dont really know how much the sun directly shines on the building because of the direction (still slightly angled relative to proper east and west), but i would think less than something like Birnkrant with windows on the west and east face.

and i would assume it’s not great to have any indoor electronic component in direct sunlight for an extended period of time.

and PBK Mom, i haven’t been in Marks yet, though i’ll be living there in the fall. you can see how big the dressers are in the virtual tour of the dorms online. from the looks of it, it definitely looks large enough to fit a generous-sized TV:

Huh. That’s some brilliant thinking. Guess I’ll have to wait till move-in day to really test the sunlight.

lol yeah, that’s the most thinking i’ve done all summer, besides parallel parking at the beach :p

I seem to remember them being between 30" and 36" wide and 24" to 28" deep. At least, that’s my guess based on the mental picture I have of my old room. A lot of people end up with their dressers under their beds, though, to save space.

Thanks much to all for the info!
