I think you have a very good chance of being accepted, but you can’t major in economics in Marshall. If you want to major in economics, that’d be through CLAS.

aim for that 32 act, and if you write as excellent as you say you do, id say your chances are pretty good. give yourself at least a month on the essay, and don’t procrastinate…good luck.

Ya i hadnt looked into it and realized economics is in the Art/Science school…what do you think my chances are for that school? I would think similar but I dont know.

I don’t think there will be a big difference in getting in. You might want to look at the majors the Marshall has to offer before applying under Economics though, just in case.

Yeah, Marshall only has Business Administration and Accounting (which is technically through Leventhal, but you apply through Marshall). But you “concentrate” in different things, so not all business administration majors take the exact same classes. Lower level, yes, they’re all the same, but your upper level classes will be different depending on your concentration.

Colleges do not prefer the SAT over the ACT. I was accepted to USC with a 27 ACT (if superscored, 28) and a 1640 SAT. I had a 4.5, was valedictorian, AP Scholar, Boys State attendee, etc.

Take a practice test for the SAT and ACT. Look at a conversion chart to compare your SAT score with the ACT score on the practice exams. Take the test that makes you score higher. A 30 ACT approximately equals around 2000 on the SAT.

S didn’t take SAT because he rocked the ACT June of 10th grade. He didn’t find it a disadvantage (got in everywhere). Did take 3 SAT IIs though, as he also applied to UCs where 2 are required.

A friend with similar stats to yours was admitted for Spring. Don’t know about his essays or recs though.
