MassArt deferral

Hi,

I applied to MassARt and got a deferral. If I go to community college for a year, and take 12 credits of humanities classes/semester (lots of writing) and I get a 3.0 or better in every class - then they will accept me next year.

My grades were not great in high school, though I did well enough on SATs.

I would love to go to another state college (like MCLA - Mass college of Liberal Arts in North Adams, MA), so that I can live on campus and have a normal freshman year experience. But MassArt will only accept classes from community college (no dorms) for this deferment.

Is anyone familiar with this type of offer?

Misty

Misty - I don’t know anything specific about MassArt (other than it being a pretty cool place) but I suggest you talk to Admissions directly. What you are describing sounds more like a transfer than a deferment. Perhaps if you ask the question in that manner, you will get the response you need.
