LOS ANGELES (AP) – Authorities say a water main has broken near the UCLA campus, spewing water into the air and stranding cars and people in underground parking structures.

Television news reports show an immense geyser of water surging from the middle of the street on Sunset Boulevard. Streets on and near campus are flooded and fast-moving sheets of water are pouring down the entrance of one parking structure and into campus athletic fields near Pauley Pavilion.

@mom2collegekids apparently it’s finals week for students. Are your nephews on campus this summer? News is reporting massive flooding due to broken water main. Pauley Pavilion (which was just recently renovated) and underground parking garages are completely flooded! Appears to be quite a bit of damage. I imagine it’ll take a long time to make repairs to campus and surrounding neighborhoods.
Hopes and prayers to UCLA and Westwood as a whole!

Wow… just looked up pictures and it is quite a sight. I can imagine what it’s doing to traffic in the area, too.
