Andi,
Congratulations to you and your son! I am so happy that great things are happening for your son this year after last year’s disappointments. Thanks so much for letting us know the good news and for being a resource to students and parents.

Thanks Northstarmom for the kind words!

Congrtulations to all here!!
My daughter just got into USC–(hope I don’t sound like a broken record with the stats— 2160 SAT, 780 MAth 2c, 740 Physics 34 ACT) with an offer to fly her out for the Presidential scholarship a grand total of half tuition or $64,000…( Hope Oprah doesn’t also skewer me if I don’t have this info exactly right…-- we have to pay for half the cost of the flight to California…)
Anyway, my poor old mother ----who had a real Million Little Pieces Life story ---- would have been so PROUD of her only grandchild… I wish she were here to hear the happy news…): (:

Congrats to ALL!

Clayvessel,

Congrats to your daughter. Such wonderful news. while we can’t replace your mom, you can tell your daughter that there are a whole lot of people inthe land of CC that are proud of what she has accomplished. well done, well done

clayvessel: I’m sure your mom knows all about your news and is smiling down at you all… :)

congratulations to your daughter clayvessel!!!

DS just received letter from Rutgers awarding him $20,000 over 4 years - $5,000 per year!

I have never been so happy to do something that has been so hard on me; keeping up with all of the great awards that are coming to our CC family. Congrats, spikemon & son.

Congratulations Clayvessel and Spikemom! You must be so (rightfully) proud! :)

Clayvessel and Spikemom,

Very happy news from you both!! So very glad to hear that this hard work is truly paying off in $$$$$$$$!!!

Son received the Trustee Distinguished Scholarship with his admit to Rice ID. $54,000 over the 4 years, $13,500 each year. Must maintain a 2.8 GPA to keep it. Mom and dad are thrilled. This puts Rice within our financial reach. Yea! They also offered $300 toward travel expenses to attend Owl Weekend in Mar or Apr. Very pleased overall.

luke awesome congrats

Lukester,

Congratulations on the award from Rice. Great news! Congrats to the rest as well for all the good news. I know more good news is on its way .

Son received DHS from Tulane, full tuition + $3000 per year
National Merit stipend from Florida, $5500 per year
Hoping for some merit awards from UNC-CH and Rice.

Lukester, Congratulations! DD is at Rice and loves it. I love Rice’s GPA requirements for scholarships- very reasonable, unlike some colleges that ask for a 3.5! It allows kids to branch out and take classes that might not be in their comfort zones.

congrats to all…

Please post full or near full merit scholarships to: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=143944&page=2&pp=20

I have a master list of all full or “near full” merit scholarships and I’d like to add news ones!

D received Founders’ Award from Tulane, $14K + $2K housing allowance each year.

Congratulations to all these hard-working, bright young men and women!

Congrats to ObsessedDad’s D. The kids at Tulane are having a great experience there this term. The school is alive and exciting and the surrounding community is more than ready for them. It is a great option!

D got Distinguished Scholar’s Award at Tulane - she’s quite happy!

Congratulations, ObsessedDad!

Congratulations everyone! D also got a Founders award from Tulane.

Nice surprise since she submitted a partial application too late for DHS consideration. She applied at the very last minute after discovering the Tropical Medicine program open to undergrads. We didn’t expect anything in the way of scholarship money!

Just got word that she is a NM Finalist as well…gooooood week! :-)
