I am less than a year away from completing my Computer Science (digital systems security) major. I am planning to do my masters (abroad) in cyber security and digital forensics in the computing side, but I also wish to do 2nd major (in the same university as masters) in criminology/forensic science. Is it possible to do at the same time? I am ok with the long study duration, and making either the bachelor or master part time, while other is full time etc. (depending on schedule etc.)
Is it possible in universities? Or should I just stick to masters + online courses/degree?
Really keen on this so hope to get any advice on it. I am aiming for Australia (as my 1st degree is from Australia), but am open to other countries if the combination is possible.
You need to ask the universities that you might be attending whether it is possible to do this. Each places sets its own policies.
But why do you think that you need a second full bachelors degree? It might make better sense to use criminology/forensics as a minor field in your MS program. Grad school is to undergrad as undergrad is to high school. You do not want to be trying to juggle a part-time and a full-time program of studies. You want to just do one thing at a time either full- or part-time.
You need to investigate the masters programs that you are looking at to see how they are organized. Some require you to take a specific series of classes and there are no electives whatsoever. Some have a couple of choices along the way. Some are pretty much free-form. In a masters that is leading to a PhD, it is generally expected that the student pursue a major field and a related minor field.
