Essays/LORs/Other

  1. A diplomat at the American embassy
  2. my school’s CS HOD
  3. The CEO from the startup where I interned at.

just realised its very huge - would appreciate if someone takes out their time to review once

If you can pay tuition, you will certainly get accepted at plenty of US universities. We have a lot!

You are going to have to narrow down some, for us to be helpful. Do you want a large research university? Or a smaller school? a rural one? one in big city? Does weather or “vibe” matter, etc.

You likely know this, but if you want engineering make sure the program is ABET-accredited.

WPI is the first (and one of few) that has “robotics engineering” as an accredited degree if that is of interest…

You will want classroom teachers (and maybe you have that, as well). I know it seems weird, but US colleges want the US teachers to talk about you inside the classroom and how are you as a student. Many also want one from the school counselor, who will talk about you in relation to the school/class offerings. This person should also be the one to explain your 9th grade GPA and your illness (hope you are ok now!). This is sometimes done by head of school). They may or may not look at others (depends on school)…

Many colleges here want two references from teachers who have had you as a student…one humanities, and one STEM. So…you will need to check whether the CEO and the diplomat are additional, or would be accepted as LOR for colleges.

Do you want suggestions of colleges for applications? Are you currently in your last year of high school…or what? When will you graduated from high school?

Also, what is your college budget in terms of what your family can contribute?

Lots of other answered questions if you really want suggestions…locations, weather, size, religious vs secular, ease of travel home, etc.

Yeah, I want suggestions for colleges - I guess I missed some details:

  1. I am a jr at HS, I’ll graduate in 2026
  2. the budget: I have 75k in total, considering I’ll be sponsored 35k by the same company where I interned (excluding any loan or scholarship)
  3. I prefer secular locations

I don’t have any other such preferences regarding weather or size as long as the neighborhood is great(safe) around. Also, it is most likely that I get an LOR from the principal of my school.

yeah, mybad I did miss a few details:

  1. I defo want the program to be ABET-accredited
  2. The weather or vibe doesn’t matter to me as long as the neighborhood is great(safe) around.
  3. I have been originally aiming for something with (being very specific) -
  • strong academic reputation
  • culture of innovation
  • collaborative environment
  • A strong network would be appreciated as well

ok, I will make sure to talk to my counselor regarding the same, and yeah I am doing pretty well now - thanks a lot for asking mate!!

That would but fulfill the requirement many colleges have for two references…one from a STEM teacher and one from a humanities teacher…who have had you as a student in their class(es).

You have a lot of supplemental LORs but I do not see a humanities reference. And unless the CS HOD has had you as a student in a class, that might not count as your STEM one.

Per year…or in total for the four years of undergrad?
