Each year I like to post a “Match Day” thread for those students, parents, relatives, etc. anxiously waiting the opening of the prized envelope!

I don’t have a candidate to be concerned about, but work in an academic department of a medical school and have been hearing the buzz all week.

Best of luck to all involved tomorrow! May your nerves be calm, may you get some sleep tonight, may you have an excellent MATCH tomorrow!

I’m sitting here trying to concentrate on House of Cards…and obviously am not doing a very good job. Our DIL matches tomorrow. She and DS have spent eight years in Los Angeles…for their undergraduate work and her med school. They’re now hoping to relocate to the Bay Area where both families are. Our son, a software engineer, has already quit his job in preparation for a move “somewhere.” Pretty scary. They’re good kids, and I know it’ll all work out for the best, but I just want it to be all settled.

Best of luck to them Jacquelyn. Sometime in the near future my kiddo will be there. I hope we’ll continue to take his cool demeanor and stay chill as he does when that time comes.

Jacquelyn Best wishes for them. I was recently shocked to learn that sometimes these students are applying to 80-100+ residencies. I can’t quite get my head around that.

Here the envelopes are released at noon. That’s EST here. I would guess that it’s a prearranged time for all Matches. But can’t confirm time zone differences.

All envelopes are released at the same time. Noon EST, 11am CST, 10am MST and 9am PST.

Fingers crossed for all who are awaiting news! I did it last year and will be doing it again 2 years from now.
